As the weather gets colder and the days shorter, it seems fitting that we reflect on life, death, thanksgiving, and eternity. October was Respect Life month and Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance month. In November, we celebrate All Saints and All Souls Day and Thanksgiving. December brings the beautiful birthday of our Savior Jesus, Christmas!

This October, Prenatal Partners for Life had a wonderful event at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Oak Grove, MN celebrating the 30th anniversary of the beautiful encyclical by Saint Pope John Paul Il called The Gospel of Life. This prophetic and inspiring teaching is needed now more than ever. The night had wonderful families testifying to the gift of their children’s lives, no matter how long or short, and regardless of a diagnosis. We had a delicious dinner, sang beautiful songs together, had an awesome Silent Auction and Raffle and enjoyed being together as the Body of Christ cherishing life and supporting our efforts of helping families embrace the life of their child and educating the world about the gift of all life.
We are getting ready to send our ornaments and ornament kits to families who have lost a child. A big thanks to all who helped from the MOMS group at Saint Patrick’s putting together some of the kits we send out! The holiday season is hard for grieving families, and these ornaments help our families know that they are loved, and their children are not forgotten.
Every life created by God is precious with a plan and a purpose, no matter how short or long. Lumen Caeli, which means Light of Heaven, is a ministry of PPFL that supports families who experience miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant loss. Please read in the Family Spotlight the beautiful impact this ministry has had on people all over the world.
